Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you use the Northeast Community Church website.

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Welcome to necclife.org, the website of Northeast Community Church (“NECC,” “we,” “us” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Website. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website. If you use the Website on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Purpose of the Website

The Website provides information about NECC, our beliefs, gatherings, ministries, services, events and resources, and allows you to contact us, request services, submit prayer requests and subscribe to updates. The Website is offered as a ministry resource and for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Website’s forms. If you are under 18, please use the Website with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Information about children for KidsLife and StudentLife should be submitted by a parent or legal guardian.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Website lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • Submit false, misleading or impersonating information, or information about another person without their consent;
  • Post or transmit content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful or that infringes anyone’s rights;
  • Send spam, chain letters, advertising or unsolicited commercial messages through our forms;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website, its servers or related systems, or interfere with its operation (including by introducing viruses or malicious code, scraping at high volume, or overloading the infrastructure);
  • Use automated tools to submit forms or harvest information; or
  • Use the Website in any way that could harm NECC, our members, guests, partners or the public.

We may block access, delete submissions or take other appropriate action if we believe these Terms have been violated.

5. Your submissions

When you submit information through the Website (such as a message, prayer request or service request), you confirm that it is accurate and that you have the right to share it. You remain the owner of what you submit. You grant NECC a limited, non-exclusive permission to use your submission solely to respond to you and to carry out the request, as described in our Privacy Policy. We will not publish prayer requests or personal stories without your explicit permission.

Website forms are not monitored 24/7 and are not intended for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. For emotional crisis or thoughts of suicide, call or text 988.

6. Intellectual property

The Website and its content — including text, articles, graphics, logos, the NECC name and mark, layouts and code — are owned by or licensed to NECC and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Some photographs are used under license from their respective owners or are in the public domain. Scripture quotations marked as such are from the World English Bible (public domain) unless otherwise noted.

You may view, download and print pages for personal, non-commercial use, and you are welcome to share links to our articles. You may quote brief excerpts with attribution and a link to the original page. Any other reproduction, distribution, modification or commercial use requires our prior written permission. Requests may be sent to [email protected].

7. No professional advice

Articles, messages and other resources on the Website are offered for spiritual encouragement and general information. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial or tax advice and are not a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional. Pastoral care offered by NECC is not licensed clinical counseling. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional regarding your specific situation, and never disregard professional advice because of something you read on the Website.

8. Giving

Gifts to NECC are voluntary contributions to a religious organization and are generally non-refundable, except in cases of clear processing error. Gifts designated for a specific ministry will be used for that purpose where possible; NECC retains discretion to redirect funds to similar purposes if a designated need has been met or is no longer viable. Information on the Website about the impact of gifts, including the giving calculator, is illustrative only. Please consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility.

9. Events and information accuracy

We work to keep service times, event details and other information accurate, but schedules can change due to weather, holidays or other circumstances. Information is provided “as is” and may contain errors or become outdated. Please contact the office or check our social media for the latest updates before traveling to an event.

10. Third-party links

The Website may link to third-party websites, including social-media platforms, maps and partner organizations. These links are provided for convenience only. NECC does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies or practices of third-party sites, and a link does not imply endorsement of everything on those sites.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NECC, its pastors, staff, volunteers and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Website or its content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NECC and its pastors, staff and volunteers from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Website.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Website shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing any claim, we encourage you to contact us so that we can try to resolve the matter peacefully and informally, consistent with Matthew 18:15.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page. The “Last updated” date shows when changes were made. Your continued use of the Website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. These Terms, together with the policies referenced above, are the entire agreement between you and NECC regarding the Website.
