What We Believe
Clear convictions on the essentials, humility on secondary matters, and love in all things.
NECC is a non-denominational, evangelical church. Our beliefs are summarized below. Tap any statement to read more, along with the Scriptures that ground it.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things, perfect in love, holiness, justice and wisdom (Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross as the substitute for our sin, rose bodily from the dead and ascended to heaven. He will return in power and glory (John 1:1–14; Philippians 2:5–11; 1 Corinthians 15:3–8).
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, gives new life to all who believe, lives within every Christian and empowers believers with gifts for serving God and others (John 16:7–13; Romans 8:9–11; 1 Corinthians 12).
The Bible is God’s Word, written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is true, trustworthy and without error in its original writings, and it is the final authority for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).
Every person is created in the image of God and has immeasurable worth. Yet all people have sinned and are separated from God, unable to restore that relationship by their own effort (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:2).
Salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not earned by good works. Everyone who turns from sin and trusts in Jesus is forgiven, adopted into God’s family and given eternal life (Ephesians 2:8–9; John 3:16; Romans 10:9–10).
The church is the body of Christ — all believers everywhere — expressed in local communities that worship, grow, serve and share the good news together. We practice two ordinances: believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Acts 2:41–47; Matthew 28:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26).
God will one day make all things new. Jesus will return, the dead will be raised, and those who belong to Him will live forever in His presence. We live today with hope and urgency because of that future (John 14:1–3; Revelation 21:1–5).
Faith invites questions. If you’d like to talk through anything on this page, our pastors would love to grab a coffee with you. Send us a note or request a conversation.
Ephesians 2:8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.
In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, liberty. In all things, love.
Essentials
The core truths of the Christian faith — who God is, who Jesus is and how we are saved — are non-negotiable for us.
Convictions
On matters where sincere Christians disagree, we hold our views with humility and welcome people from many church backgrounds.
Love
How we treat each other matters as much as what we believe. We aim to be known for grace, kindness and honesty.
